The first gourd is a cut leaf design that was drawn on a cleaned gourd, wood burned and then cut with my mini jig saw. I was not happy with the appearance of the inside of the gourd after sealing it with glue so I applied texture medium to the inside painted it with black gesso and I added a little battery powered votive. Looks cool to see the little bit of light shining through the leaf design. The outside of the gourd was then stained with acrylics and properly sealed. The second gourd is a simple flower design that I drew on the cleaned gourd and then wood burned, sanded again and then stained with acrylic and properly sealed. The inside of that gourd was also sanded, sealed and painted. The third gourd was started in a class but when I came home I disassembled it except for the painted faux beads added some wood burning and repainted all the faux beading with acrylic paint. The wood skewers were painted and glued in the gourd and then added a free form weaving and beads. Kind of a fun design.
