Finally I have finished my banana gourds mermaids! After what has seemed like forever my muse returned and I am once again in the studio creating, painting, sculpting and all in all enjoying the process. So tomorrow off to the “boutique” and hopefully some sales!
In the past I have just painted the mermaids on the banana gourds, but this time I decided to add dimension by using texture medium for the hair. They are painted with acrylic paints and of course there is an addition of a soft sculpture tail. The “seaweed” head piece is made from the softest fuzzy yarn and I have added a small sea shell to it.
Thanks so much for visiting and leave a comment if you feel so inclined-
