In one week ( February 26-28) the Florida Gourd show will be at the Azan Shrine Center in Eau Gallie Florida.\u00a0 I feel so fortunate that it is held so close to home.\u00a0 There are gourd growers from all over the country selling gourds, vendors selling gourd supplies and classes for beginners and experienced artists as well as a juried show.\u00a0 I will have a few of my gourd creations in the show this year and am\u00a0 completing the last three.<\/p>\n

Here is one that has to be completed, cleaned the outside of the gourd, drew the basic design on and cut out the basket handle.\u00a0 I also scraped and cleaned the inside of the gourd, and decoupaged paper over the inside to seal it.\u00a0 Then I refined my drawing and\u00a0 wood burned the design, which took me quite a few days. \u00a0 Now I have to paint the inside and add some transparent color to the overall design. I hope to finish it and enter into the show.<\/p>\n
