In the “Show and Tell” section of the Winter issue of Art Doll Quarterly you will find the doll that I created with a gourd. The main body section is a gourd that of course has been cut and cleaned, embellished with a little paper clay and painted with acrylic paints. I added legs with wooden dowels and a Styrofoam egg cut in half was used for the shoes. The egg was covered with paper clay and painted with acrylic paints. The head was created with a Styrofoam ball covered with paper clay & hand sculpted and painted with acrylic paints. The arms were made with a wire armature covered with hand painted muslin fabric and white lace and her hands were made with paper clay. The flowers were made with a fiskars punch and painted with acrylic paints.
Art Doll Quarterly is the premier doll magazine featuring some of the most talented and creative doll artists world wide and it is an honor to be featured among them!
